ABOUT THE BIRTHLAND WELLNESS FUND
The Birthland Wellness Fund, a fiscally sponsored project, aims to reintroduce BIPOC-focused community midwifery care as an essential part of reproductive healthcare. It is committed to the long-term sustainability of the Birthland Wellness Center, situated in the Huchiun territory on Lisjan Ohlone land, encompassing Oakland and the East Bay Area.
We envision a future where financial support ensures access to culturally relevant and congruent care for marginalized groups in our community. Our mission includes advocating for providers from underrepresented groups and sustaining their independent practices. By disrupting the systems of power that have blocked BIPOC communities from community midwifery care, we seek to rejuvenate these vital services.
Join us in helping to bring a new and innovative approach to the freestanding birth center model to Oakland. The Birthland Wellness Fund accepts donations from the public. Your donation supports community midwifery, racial health equity, and this pregnancy wellness model.
